How to get the token
- Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app.
- Configure Admin API scopes: tick read_orders and write_orders. Save.
- Install app → reveal the Admin API access token (starts with shpat_). It is shown once.
Cancellation settings
Only COD orders are cancelled (tagged unserviceable-pincode). Prepaid orders are left open and tagged post office, and listed brand-wise after each run.
Custom message in the cancellation email
Shopify's cancellation email cannot be changed per order from the API, but the template can read the tag we add. Paste this once into each store: Settings → Notifications → Customer notifications → Order cancelled → Edit code, just above the closing of the main text block.
{% if tags contains 'unserviceable-pincode' %}
<p>We had to cancel this order because your pincode is currently not serviceable by the logistics partners we use for Cash on Delivery.
If you'd still like these products, you can place the order again with a prepaid payment and we'll deliver it.</p>
